MSS Rugby Team

The MSS Rugby Team is the newest sport at MSS and has proved to be very popular among the student body. The 2006-2007 was the year that Rugby made it’s grand debut. The first year was an outstanding success with excellent interest by students and the winning title. This was mirrored in the 2007-2008 season. With such great results, it seemed as though Rugby was going to become the most popular sport at MSS outweighing the interest in Hockey. Unfortunately, the third year of Rugby (the 2008-2009 season) had devastating results. The team seemed to have developed an over confident and cocky attitude which cost them their championship title, ending their two year streak.

In the 2009-2010 season the team made an outstanding comeback. With the least amount of interest than any other year, the team was only compiled of a mere 18 players. However, these 18 players were made up of raw talent and manage to get the job done and stole their title back from their opponents. There were a lot of new players this year, most of which being fourth year students and a few third years. What an excellent way to end of their high school years! All the best in next year’s season boys!
