Students' Council

Students’ Council Executive

Students’ Council are elected representatives of the students at Manitoulin Secondary School.  Working in partnership with the students, school administration, staff and community, Students’ Council strives to make life at MSS the best it can be.

A position on Students’ Council is a fantastic way to develop leadership skills, meet new people and make a lasting contribution to the Manitoulin community.

The Students’ Council helps to raise funds for school-wide activities including social events such as dances and guest speakers, community projects, FLY and all around school spirit.

For students who have demonstrated leadership contributions and who wish to take on a significant leadership role in the school, there are two ways to become a member of Students’ Council.  You can either run in Students’ Council elections in April of the previous year for a position on the executive or you can apply for a Grade Representative position in the beginning of September.  The Grade Representatives are responsible for informing their classes of all the great events going on within the school. Their work is vital in giving all of the students in the school an opportunity to get involved.

All students are encouraged to get involved in extra-curricular activities to help make their 4 years at Manitoulin Secondary School rewarding.
